Franchise T20 cricket around the year

Between them, the world’s franchise Twenty20 leagues now run almost all year round. The Big Bash League and Bangladesh Premier League fill December and January, SA20 and ILT20 follow in January and February, the Pakistan Super League and Indian Premier League take over from late February to the end of May, Major League Cricket runs through June and July, and the Caribbean Premier League closes the cycle in August and September.

Each league page on PinLivescore carries a live scoreboard filtered to that competition, the season window, team and venue list, how the playoffs work and answers to common questions. For everything happening today across internationals, Tests and domestic cricket, see the main cricket live score page.

How the big franchise leagues differ

All of the leagues linked above play Twenty20 cricket, but they are not copies of each other. The IPL is the giant: ten teams, a mega auction that reshapes squads every few years, home-and-away fixtures and crowds that make league games feel like finals. The PSL keeps a tighter six-team format built around a player draft, with conditions that give young fast bowlers and wrist-spinners an outsized role. The BBL leans into its Australian summer — bigger outfields reward placement and running between the wickets as much as raw power — while the CPL plays on slower Caribbean surfaces where spin and smart death bowling win tournaments. SA20 and ILT20 have added a January window of their own, and Major League Cricket is building the game in the United States each summer. Same format, six very different kinds of cricket.

Playoff formats, without the headache

The IPL and PSL use the same four-team page playoff system. The top two sides meet in a Qualifier — the winner goes straight to the final, the loser gets a second chance against the winner of the Eliminator played between third and fourth. Win two knockout games in the wrong order and you are still out, which is why finishing in the top two is worth so much. The BBL instead takes five teams into its finals series, giving the fourth and fifth sides a knockout start while the top teams earn extra lives. The CPL also uses a page-style playoff bracket. Whichever league you follow, the practical lesson is identical: the table matters as much for how you qualify as for whether you qualify.

Net run rate — the number that decides tied teams

When teams finish level on points, league tables are separated by net run rate (NRR): a team’s scoring rate per over across the season minus the rate it concedes. Score quickly and bowl sides out cheaply, and your NRR climbs; crawl to a target or leak runs at the death, and it falls. Because bowling a side out counts as using the full overs, a team that defends a low total can gain more NRR than one that wins a high-scoring chase with balls unused. Late in every league season, expect the cricket coverage to fill with NRR permutations — it is the tiebreaker that turns routine league games into must-win-by-a-margin contests.

The players who drive these tournaments — the auction stars, the emerging local names, the overseas signings — are profiled in our players directory, and breaking stories from every league land in the news section as they happen.

League cricket questions, answered

How many teams qualify for the IPL and PSL playoffs?
Four in both leagues. First plays second in the Qualifier, third plays fourth in the Eliminator, and the final is contested between the Qualifier winner and the winner of the second qualifier.

Why does a team sometimes bat on after the match looks won?
Because of net run rate. Winning faster — or losing more slowly — can be worth as much as the points themselves when the table is tied at the end of the season.

What is the difference between a draft and an auction?
In an auction (IPL), teams bid openly and prices are set by the room. In a draft (PSL), teams take turns picking players in a set order within salary bands. Both are ways of distributing talent; drafts tend to keep squads more even.

Where can I see today’s fixtures from every league at once?
Each league page above filters the scoreboard to that competition, and the main cricket scoreboard linked from this hub brings today’s internationals, Tests and domestic games together in one place.
