How to follow basketball live scores on PinLivescore

The board above pulls real-time scores from official league feeds and refreshes every 60 seconds, so there is no need to reload the page. Games in progress are marked LIVE with the current quarter and game clock, and always sit at the top. Upcoming games show their tip-off time converted to your local time zone, and finished games show the final score with the winning team highlighted in green.

Use the league chips to show only NBA, WNBA, college or international games. NBA regular-season nights can have 10 or more games at once, so the filter is the fastest way to find the team you follow.

Leagues covered

  • NBA — regular season, Play-In, Playoffs and Finals, plus Summer League and preseason when scheduled.
  • WNBA — full regular season and playoffs.
  • NCAA men's college basketball — including conference tournaments and March Madness.
  • EuroLeague, Australian NBL and FIBA — World Cup, EuroBasket and Olympic qualifying when in season.

Reading the scoreboard

In a live game the status shows the quarter and time remaining, e.g. Q3 4:10. OT means the game has gone to overtime. Once the game ends the status changes to Final and the winner is highlighted.

Basketball live score FAQs

How often are basketball scores updated?

Every 60 seconds automatically. The "Updated" time above the games grid shows the last refresh.

Why are there no NBA games showing?

The NBA regular season runs from October to April, with the playoffs through June. Outside those months the board shows WNBA, college and international games instead, plus preseason and Summer League when they are scheduled.

Are tip-off times in my local time zone?

Yes. Game times are converted automatically to your device's time zone, so a 7:30 PM ET tip-off in New York shows as 4:30 AM in Pakistan the next morning.

Can I see NBA standings and stats?

The live board focuses on scores and results. Standings, player stats and previews are covered in our sports news section.

Do you cover other sports too?

Yes — PinLivescore has live scores for football, cricket, baseball, hockey and volleyball.

A fan's guide to how basketball seasons and rules work

Basketball scores move fast — a ten-point lead can disappear in two minutes — so knowing the structure of a game and a season makes a live scoreboard far easier to read. Here is how the main leagues you will find on this page are organised, and the rule differences that explain why an NBA box score and a EuroLeague box score never look quite the same.

How an NBA season is structured

Each NBA team plays an 82-game regular season from late October to mid-April, split across the Eastern and Western Conferences. The top six teams in each conference qualify directly for the playoffs. Teams finishing seventh to tenth enter the Play-In Tournament, a short mini-bracket that decides the last two playoff spots in each conference, so even mid-table games in March carry real stakes.

The playoffs themselves are four rounds of best-of-seven series, ending in the NBA Finals in June. A series can swing on a single result, which is why playoff scores are worth following game by game rather than just checking who advanced.

NBA rules versus FIBA rules

Most competitions outside North America, including the EuroLeague and international tournaments, follow FIBA rules. The differences are small on paper but change how scores look:

  • Game length: NBA games have four 12-minute quarters (48 minutes); FIBA games have four 10-minute quarters (40 minutes). That is why FIBA final scores are usually lower.
  • Three-point line: the NBA arc sits 7.24 m from the basket (shorter in the corners), while the FIBA arc is 6.75 m.
  • Fouls: NBA players foul out on their sixth personal foul; in FIBA it is the fifth.
  • Overtime: both use five-minute overtime periods, repeated until there is a winner — there are no draws in basketball.

Reading a live basketball score

The period indicator (Q1–Q4, then OT) tells you where a game stands, and the clock stops for fouls, timeouts and the ball going out of bounds, so the final two minutes of a close game can take fifteen minutes of real time. A team's lead is rarely safe until the closing seconds: intentional fouling sends the trailing side to the free-throw line and keeps the clock from running down.

WNBA and college basketball

The WNBA plays its season through the northern summer, with 40-minute games split into four 10-minute quarters, closer to FIBA timing than to the NBA. US college basketball culminates in the NCAA tournament each March, a 68-team single-elimination bracket where one off night ends a season — the reason "March Madness" produces so many upsets worth tracking live.
